The total area including the stadium complex is about 58,861.44 sq. metres. The pavilion house is a small but beautiful auditorium, which can accommodate nearly 700 persons and is ideally suitable for holding seminars, meetings etc. The structure essentially consists of RCC beams and are supported on brick walls with continues brick foundation.

Thus, the total complex is capable of accommodating about 16 thousand spectators including the ground level seating capacity. The construction of this stadium was completed in 1961 and this stadium has witnessed many memorable events. Yuri Gagrin, the first Russian Astronaut was given reception in this stadium. Emyl Zatopek, the legendary athlete of all times was accorded civic reception in this stadium. A number of international football matches including the match between India vs. Iran, India vs. Czec Republic and India vs. Russian Eleven were played on the turf of this stadium.
